Terms of use

You must be 18 or older. By joining you confirm that you are. We remove accounts of anyone under 18 as soon as we learn of it.

One account per person. Give your real first name, your real age and photos of yourself. You may not create an account for someone else or pretend to be someone else.

Keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens on your account. If you think someone else has used it, change your password and use "Log out everywhere else" in Profile › Account & security.

We may ask you to confirm your email address with a one-time code. Confirming an email shows the address is yours; it is not a check of your identity or background.

GarbaMate is for finding people to go to garba with. You agree not to:

• harass, threaten, insult or stalk anyone, on GarbaMate or after meeting through it;
• send sexual content, or any content involving a minor;
• post anything illegal, hateful, violent, or that you have no right to share;
• create fake profiles, use someone else's photos, or mislead people about who you are;
• advertise, sell, ask for money, or collect other people's data;
• scrape, automate, overload or try to break into GarbaMate.

You can block or report anyone from their profile or chat. We review reports and may remove content, suspend or delete accounts that break these rules, without notice where needed to keep people safe.

GarbaMate helps you find people; it does not vet them. We do not run identity or background checks. Meet in public places such as the garba ground, tell a friend where you are going, and leave if you feel unsafe. In an emergency call 112.

Your photos, profile and messages stay yours. You give us permission to store and show them to other people on GarbaMate as the app describes (for example, your photos and first name on your card), only for running GarbaMate. When you delete something or your account, we stop showing it.

Events are listed by their organisers. An organiser is responsible for their event: the venue, the timings, the pass prices and what happens on the night. We review listings before they go live but we do not run the events.

A booking on GarbaMate is a reservation. GarbaMate does not take payment: you pay the organiser at the gate or in the way they state. Cancellations and refunds follow the Refunds page.

Nearby and "Use my location" are optional and off until you turn them on. What they store and how long is set out in the Privacy notice. Do not use them to follow or find someone who has not chosen to meet you.

You can delete your account any time from Profile › Account & security. We can suspend or delete an account that breaks these terms or the law.

We work to keep GarbaMate running and safe, but we provide it as it is and cannot promise it will always be available or error-free. To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for how other people behave, on GarbaMate or offline, or for events run by organisers. Nothing here limits rights you have under Indian consumer law.

Under the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, you can raise a complaint about content or an account with our Grievance Officer: RADHA, info@garbamate.fun, 24h. We acknowledge a complaint within 24 hours and resolve it within 15 days.

When these terms change in a way that matters, we tell you in the app and ask you to agree before you continue. These terms are governed by the laws of India.
