Meet safely, dance freely

GarbaMate helps you find people; it doesn't vet them. These habits keep a great night great, and the rules below keep GarbaMate a place people want to be.

In an emergency

Before and during a meet

  • Meet where people are

    The garba ground, a busy café or a friend's group. Never at someone's home the first time.

  • Tell a friend

    Share who you're meeting, where and when. Better still, go with your own group.

  • Keep chats on GarbaMate

    Don't share your address, workplace or any OTP until you really trust someone.

  • Get there on your own

    Use your own ride, keep your phone charged and know how you'll get home.

  • Never send money

    No one genuine asks for money, gifts or passes paid in advance. That's a scam: report it.

  • Trust your gut

    If something feels off, leave. You never owe anyone a reply. Block and report instead.

Community guidelines

GarbaMate is for finding people to go to garba with. Everyone who joins agrees not to:

  • harass, threaten, insult or stalk anyone, on GarbaMate or after meeting through it;
  • send sexual content, or any content involving a minor;
  • post anything illegal, hateful, violent, or that you have no right to share;
  • create fake profiles, use someone else's photos, or mislead people about who you are;
  • advertise, sell, ask for money, or collect other people's data;
  • scrape, automate, overload or try to break into GarbaMate.

Accounts must belong to real people aged 18 or over. We may remove content, suspend or delete accounts that break these rules. The full rules are in the Terms.

Block and report

Open their profile or your chat with them, tap the menu and choose Block or Report. Blocking works at once: they can no longer see your profile or message you, and they aren't told. Our team reviews every report. You can unblock someone later in Profile › Safety.

Look for verified profiles

Every member confirms their email. Members can also take a quick selfie that our team compares with their photos; approved profiles show a Photo verified badge. A badge isn't a background check, so the habits above still apply.

Complaints

Our Grievance Officer is RADHA, info@garbamate.fun, 24h. We acknowledge a complaint within 24 hours and resolve it within 15 days. Other ways to reach us are on Help and contact.
